The larger-scaled Pharos pairs a powerful motor and advanced design principles to provide outstanding air distribution and useful light. The fan’s primary feature, a series of rings (or louvers), gives it its “deco” styling and eliminates glare from the 120-watt light source.
Modern Fans can keep you comfortable while helping to reduce energy consumption in several ways. Like a nice breeze on a warm day, moving air offers recognizable relief from heat and humidity (scientists have a term for what's happening on your skin-“evaporative cooling.”). This “cooling” effect allows for upward adjustment of your AC thermostat by as much as 8 degrees, resulting in up to 40% reduction in power consumption. In many cases, air conditioning can be turned off entirely, with a Modern Fan using less electricity than a standard light bulb.
Additional reductions and savings are gained in cooler seasons when Modern Fans are used to re-circulate heated air that would otherwise remain trapped or stratified near the ceiling. Furthermore, we offer longlife, color-balanced compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) options with all but one of our products. CFLs use only 25% of the energy consumed by equivalent incandescent or halogen lamps.

| Technical Details: | The Pharos Ceiling Fan by the Modern Fan Company has a wobblefree design. A patented single-piece rotor ensures stability at all three speeds (80, 120, 210 rpm). Five perfectly balanced plywood blades with a 12-degree pitch move up to 6000 cubic feet of air per minute with a 120V motor. Two stem attachments give a choice of either 14" or 24" overall heights. The ceiling plate includes a built-in adapter that can be used on a slant of up to 33.5 degrees. The handblown glass light diffuser is encased in a protective grill. A reverse switch on the fan body changes airflow direction. UL-CUL damp location listed. Assembly required. Bulbs (included): three incandescent 40W/120V/E12/Torpedo. |
