An ostrich egg inspired the Brera collection of lights designed by Achille Castiglione for Flos. The Brera is available as a floor lamp, a pendant, a table lamp, ceiling light and a wall sconce, all with the same timeless quality of good design.The Brera uses an incandescent lamp and its diffused light is therefore easily dimmed.There are three sizes and two finishes available. Achille Castiglioni studied architecture in Milan.Together with his brother Pier Giacomo Castiglioni he later formed one of the most respected and innovative partnerships in modern product design. They both felt strongly that design must restructure an object's form and function as well as the production process, and applied this to every design they produced. Most of Castilglioni's products have become modern design classics and are still in production. The MoMA has the most important designs by Achille Castiglioni in its permanent collection. All light fixtures and lamps are manufactured and distributed by Flos.
