The Taraxacum fixture was originally designed in 1960 by Achille and Pier Castiglioni and has recently been re-issued by Flos. Most of Castilglioni's products, like this unique pendant light, have become modern design classics This unusual pendant light features a metal frame covered which a cocoon-like skin of plastic. The Taraxacum is available in two sizes.

Achille Castiglioni studied architecture in Milan.Together with his brother Pier Giacomo Castiglioni he later formed one of the most respected and innovative partnerships in modern product design. They both felt strongly that design must restructure an object's form and function as well as the production process, and applied this to every design they produced. Most of Castilglioni's products have become modern design classics and are still in production. The MoMA has the most important designs by Achille Castiglioni in its permanent collection. All light fixtures and lamps are manufactured and distributed by Flos.
