The Taraxacum fixture was designed in 1988 by Achille and Pier Castiglioni for Flos. Most of Castilglioni's products, like this unique pendant light, have become modern design classics and are still in production. Stainless steel rectangles interlock and each features a series of clear glass globular bulbs. The sixty 25 watt bulbs act as one unit making this stunning fixture a floating sculpture.

Achille Castiglioni studied architecture in Milan.Together with his brother Pier Giacomo Castiglioni he later formed one of the most respected and innovative partnerships in modern product design. They both felt strongly that design must restructure an object's form and function as well as the production process, and applied this to every design they produced. Most of Castilglioni's products have become modern design classics and are still in production. The MoMA has the most important designs by Achille Castiglioni in its permanent collection. All light fixtures and lamps are manufactured and distributed by Flos.
