CLEVELAND, Ohio – It was a repeat performance for Kichler at the recent Low Voltage Lighting Institute of the Americas (LVLIA) Conference. For the second straight year, Kichler was honored as manufacturer of the year by this organization of contractors, manufacturers, lighting designers and landscape architects from the United States and Canada.
Members voted on manufacturers from across the country to decide the winner of the organization’s second Manufacturer of the Year award. LVLIA recognized Kichler for its dedication to the organization, its support of the industry and its professional service to clients in the business of low-voltage landscape and architectural lighting.
"Kichler is extremely honored to have been recognized, not once, but twice, by a group that shares our passion for building and improving the lighting industry," said Jack Miller, Kichler vice president of sales lighting systems. "We're always looking for ways to provide better solutions for our customers, and we consistently look for ways to uphold and improve the success of our low-voltage lighting as a means to do so."
Kichler joined the organization, whose members have the common goal of improving the Low Voltage Lighting Industry, five years ago and has been an active member ever since.

28 winners of Design Plus at Light+Building 2006
The international jury of the Design Plus, one of Germany's foremost design competitions, selected the 28 winners from the 185 products. All of them can now be marked as 'Winner of Design Plus at Light+Building 2006'.
The competition is organised by Messe Frankfurt in cooperation with the German Design Council. The prize is awarded to products that harmoniously combine aesthetic qualities and functionality.
In the technical-lighting category, Luceplan came away with not one but two prizes. The other prizewinners are Artemide, Erco Leuchten, Ing. Castaldi Illuminazione, LIGHTLED, melis Lighting, Philips, Regent Beleuchtungskörper, Schmitz-Leuchten and Troll – J. Feliu de la Penya.
In the decorative-lighting category, the jury selected products by AML Licht +Design, BOVER Il-luminació & Mobiliari, dab-diseno actual barcelona, Dark, IP44 Schmalhorst, Lumini Equipamentos de Iluminacao and Luzifer Lamps.
In the field of electrical engineering and house & building automation, Weidmüller Interface also took not one but two Design Plus prizes while one each went to Doepke Schaltgeräte, F.W. Oventrop, Lithos International, Merten, Schaefer, Vimar and WISAP Gesellschaft für wissenschaftlichen Apparatebau.
