Just returned from another visit at the Ingo Maurer showroom in Munich. Such an inspiration!
The most intriguing new introduction was definitely the LED candle My New Flame.
The candle itself is a thin strip of circuit board. Beautiful in its industrial simplicity. The astonishing part is how life-like the flame flickers. Just like the real thing, just that this candle never burns down!
Ingo Maurer Looksoflat
With a very fitting name, the Looksoflat table lamp by Ingo Maurer has both form and function.
Looksoflat is modeled after the classic Luxo task light that was designed by Arne jacobsen in 1937, but with its own special design “touch”.
Flat sheets of aluminum mimic the simple, overall form of the original lamp while creating an object
with distinct two-dimensional qualities.
Thin LEDs are sandwiched between the metal sheets.
I love it that Tech Lighting always looks for alternate designs.
Their collection does’t just include colorful glass shades (which of course are nice, too!), but they show design that are truly unique and different.
Antique meets modern in the Kiev pendant light from Tech Lighting.
It features a uniquely turned ornate glass fount paired with a simple tapered fabric shade with rolled edges.

This unique LED outdoor wall light from Access Lighting is a great wall washer.
At $165 it might not quite fit into our “Design for Less” category, but if you take the high quality LEDs into account the ZYXY fixture is still a steal!

The Satellite LED table lamp by Access Lighting is great for camping, outdoor dining, a kid’s room – anywhere you want light without being plugged in.
The twelve LEDs give off enough light for al fresco dining without glare.
Ingo Maurer Kokoro
The Kokoro table lamp by Ingo Maurer is at once dramatic and poetic.
I took this photo in the Ingo Maurer showroom in Munich back in March.
In the background you see the Lampampe table lamp on the floor.

Fontana Arte Tour Table in F + F Showroom
Got the Tour table by Fontana Arte in today. Such an inspiring, fun design! We immediately assembled it and it is now on display in our front window accompanied by an assortment of Tech Lighting pendants, an awesome cast glass sculpture by local artist Shel Neymark, the graceful Nobi floor lamp by Fontana Arte and the Poul Poul Table lamp by Ingo Maurer.

It is so much fun to choose all our favorite pieces for our new showroom. Here the Collage pendant from Louis Poulsen stands out . The Goggle wall lights from Luceplan are here purple, but they actually change color as you move around them.
