The Oh Mei Ma was designed in 1993 by German born artist and light objects designer, Ingo Maurer.
Designed for generous spaces this unique suspension lamp has a stunning, sculptural effect.
Light reflections become visible, then disappear depending on the position of the viewer.
A 300-watt halogen lamp projects light that cascades off a bottom plate and onto the sails, making the individual leaves seem to float in space.
The traditional Oh Mei Ma is constructed of six sheets paper coated with genuine silver-or gold leaf. It has a plumb made of steel.
Recently Ingo Maurer added the White Oh Mei Ma to his collection.
The six aluminum "sails" of this new addition are lacquered white for a crisper, more architectural look. The Oh Mei Ma measures 52” at its largest width and depth, with a minimum 56” height.
The standard cable length of 118” can easily be shortened to fit your needs and alternative lengths are available upon request.
